From our Fitness Subsidy to comprehensive health and vision care programs, FLIR lets you pick and choose the options that are right for you. Maybe you need braces, are planning to adopt a child, or have a special need for family counseling. Whatever the case, we have you covered. Some benefits may vary based on where you live, but we keep them as equitable as possible. So, while some of your benefits may not exactly match the descriptions here, it’s always close.
FLIR provides many options to help you develop a financially secure future. These include a rich 401(k) Plan that allows you to defer up to 100% of your pretax salary. FLIR supplements your retirement savings by making a discretionary matching contribution of 50 cents on every dollar up to the yearly IRS allowable maximum. You can choose between our Traditional pretax 401(k) Plan and our Roth 401(k) Plan where your contributions are made on an after-tax basis. FLIR also offers an Employee Stock Purchase Plan that allows you contribute up to 10% of your salary to buy FLIR stock at a 15% discount. Many of our locations also offer credit union memberships that include checking accounts, bank cards, and competitive interest rates.
FLIR provides a choice of medical plans to you and your family, including coverage for Domestic Partners. These plans include PPOs and HMOs, depending on location, and also include several tiers of coverage. All of our medical plans include generous vision benefits as well. Our dental insurance plan provides comprehensive dental coverage including orthodontia for adults and children.
Income Protection/Enhancement Benefits
FLIR provides many benefits to protect you and your family and to give you the opportunity to save money. This includes many benefits that are provided to employees without cost: a life insurance benefit equal to two times your base salary, short-term and long-term disability coverage of two-thirds normal base pay, and health and dependent care flexible spending accounts.
Additional voluntary life and AD&D insurance coverage is available for you, your spouse or domestic partner and eligible children.
Family and Parenting Benefits
In addition to the company provided Short Term Disability and all Federal and State Family Medical Leave Policies, each new parent receives 2 paid “Baby Days.” We also provide adoption assistance for costs associated with adoption.
Time Off Benefits
Time away from work to be with family and friends for rejuvenation is important. You will initially earn four weeks of Personal Time Off (PTO) per year. You then earn one additional day for each year of service over five years. Maximum annual PTO is 30 days.
FLIR also observes 10 holidays each calendar year.
Our Education Assistance Program is first-rate! Our FLIR locations reimburse tuition fees for approved work-related courses.
Our employees’ overall health and well-being is important to us. Some FLIR facilities have onsite fitness centers and wellness programs. For locations where no fitness room is available or for field-based employees, we offer a fitness subsidy that will help you pay for fitness programs aimed at improving your own health. We also offer an Employee Assistance Program that provides confidential counseling services 24/7.
Community and charitable involvement is an important part of our culture. Our Giving Program provides a matching gift of up to $500 per employee per year to a charity of your choice. This program is in addition to many site-sponsored outreach and charitable activities.
